This is a very nice 1959 MGA 1500 Roadster Convertible. Starts right up, engine runs smooth, shifts great, fun to drive!

This car also features the aluminum hood and doors, which was a factory option for the rally model.  This car had undergone a complete restoration a few years back. The engine has been tested and shows good compression. The tires are near new on the car, as is the spare tire.  The hubcaps are in nice shape.  The glass is good.  The interior is generally in good shape, there is one dime sized peel spot on the dash, the carpet is not new but still looks pretty good.  The seat vinyl is functional, but the base and back had buttons which most are gone, one leaving a hole in the driver's seat base.  The car has a nice wood steering wheel, and the door panels are in excellent condition.

The car comes with a white soft top, red tonneau and side curtains.  The tonneau is in basically new shape, the soft top has had some repair and could use a professional cleaning.  The side curtains have nice frames and brackets, they need a plexiglass replacement and new rubber surround.  The chrome is generally in good shape, there is some minor chrome peel/oxidation spots on the front bumper.  The underbody is solid with only a few spots of surficial rust.  The paint job is a "20 footer" by classic car standards, on close inspection it does have some minor age related blemishes (seam and edges bubbles/chips).

For MGA purists, you will recognize that the VIN on this car is the engine number from the engine number plate as occurred on many of the MGAs and has been historically titled using that number.  Typically the chassis plate on cars of this type had stamped on the plate the indication that the engine number was to be used, however on this car the chassis plate appears to be missing.  The engine number is correct for a 1959 MGA 1500, so it is assumed that the engine probably matches the vehicle and is original to the car. The body tag is still present, No. 78420, which is also consistent with MGA 1500 engine.

The NADA book value on this car is $15,500 so this car is a good deal with a reserve price on this auction of $12,500.
