Description
I have owned this classic coupe for 37 years. I drive it only occasionally of late. It should go to an coupe aficionado like I used to be when I had the energy. No smoking in the car--ever. To my best knowledge, I am only its third owner. I knew the second owner personally. He had the car for about two years. I had the interior restored a while ago. The head-liner, boot, leather seats, carpet, dash, leather door panels, etc., were done by Ocean Beach Boat and Auto. Since I rarely drive the car, the work still appears new.  The interior pictures do not lie in this regard. I also had the car repainted a while ago. They installed new body molding (rubber fender stripping) and window (front and rear) weather stripping.  They also installed a new wooden floorboard to replace the original wooden floorboard. The paint job, though top quality in every regard, was done a few years ago. The pictures do not show it, but the hard top has begun to "crack" a bit and has a one inch chip.

The car runs strong, very strong. The engine is not the original one. I blew it up in my younger days. The pictures depict the rebuilt MG engine which has approximately  five thousand miles on it since replaced by Octagon Imports of San Diego. The four-speed transmission also is strong. The tires are Michelin and practically new. The coupe's original set-up of two six volt batteries is still operational. As with most classic coupes, the car comes with moon hubcaps (five, including the spare {pictured}). Four of the five caps show rust, as does the grill, minimally. The gas gauge is on the blink (Lucas electric).

The sleek lines and body style of the '59 Coupe make it a collector's item. It's one of those classic cars you've always wanted to own, or you've wanted to own again. So you either know you want it or you know you don't. Ain't no in between on this kind of car. If you don't want it, please leave the bidding to those who do. Serious bidders only. And serious bidders know that this classic car comes "as is." Ten percent due within 24 hours of receipt of successful bid. The rest due within 48 hours after that. Buyer must make all transportation arrangements and retrieve auto within 3 days of making successful bid. Good luck. I hope my coupe finds a deserving home.
