This is a nice and clean 1972 Oldsmobile Toronado with only 71k original miles. It was owned by an elderly woman that bought it new and garage kept it. The interior is in like new condition. The back seat was never used and the front seat is just as nice. The dash doors, seats and headliner are all soft and look as good as they did on the show room floor in 1972. The power windows, power door locks, power seats, all work like new. There are no cracks, fading, or dryness on the dash. The clear panel over the speedometer and dash instruments is clear and like new. This car starts and drives like new. It handles like new. The car floats over bumps like they aren't there and is very luxurious and comfortable. The cushiions in the seats are not compressed and feel soft and thick. The original push button AM-FM radio still works. Nothing about the interior is dirty. There is no buildup of cleaner, protectant, armorall on any of the vinyl. It's all just like brand new. The original headliner looks untouched and unused. This 35 year old interior is as nice as a new car. The body is straight with no dents. The paint looks new and shiny. There are a few small areas where there are rust bubbles under the paint near the bottom of the car that can be touched up without repainting the car. The only thing this car needs is a vinyl top. There are some rust bubbles under the vinyl and the top should be replaced. New factory molded vinyl tops run about $140 on ebay for this car. Other than this the car is perfect. All of the chrome on this car is like new except for 2 spots on the rear bumper. The front is like new. The tires are like new with lots of tread. The trunk, carpet, factory jack, and spare tire are still there. The lens covers are still nice. This is a very clean original car that needs a minimal amount of tlc to be all brand new again. The 1972 Oldsmobile Toronado was quite the car in it's time. General Motors itroduced the Toronado in 1966 as the first front wheel drive carin the united states. This car is also a front wheel drive. During the seven year development period several GM innovations and designs came about because of the Toronado like, heavy duty turbo hydromatic 425 3 speed automatic transmission, 4 barrel quadrajet 4 barrel carburetor, spherical exhaust manifold, flange gaskets, curved side glass, strato bench, front bench seat and draft free ventilation system. The Toronado was heavily over built. The Toronado was GM's first subframe automobile. It used a subframed that ended at the forward end of the rear leaf springs. The 1972 Toronado came with disc brakes with wear sensors and a new federally mandated five mile per hour front and rear bumpers, turbo hydromatic transmission, variable ratio power steering, power front disk brakes, 6 way power seats, electric clock, horizontal sweep speedometer, surrounded by warning lights, 455 Rocket v8 engine. The fuel economy was improved in 1972 with a new carburetor calibration, revised value and ignition timing and a new axle ratro.
