This auction is for a 1984 Porsche 944 race car project. It had a full 8 point roll cage bent and welded in at RanderCar in Appleton, Wi. They are an asphalt late model chassis manufacturer with a lot of race car roll cage experience. The main cage is built out of .095 wall 1.750" tube. This cage cost me $2000 to have put in 4 years ago. The interior has been gutted including the door glass. Included in the interior is a Momo steering wheel and adapter, Sparco fiberglass seat, and a 5" Autometer tach w/shift light. The center console has a diamond plate piece installed and has been cut out for a pushbutton starter panel. This car has fiberglass front fenders and hood installed. This car does not come with a motor. Under the hood there has been a MSD box and coil installed along with a master disconnect and a newer Interstate battery. Hood pins have also been installed to hold hood down since the latch was removed. The rear hatch is from a 924 with no brake light or windshield wiper. It has a fiberglass racing spoiler attached to it. The front suspension has been tricked out with extreme detail. It has powder coated yellow, threaded body struts with adjustable camber plated holding thin in place on the top. A pair of Hyperco springs and Koni strut inserts were added for excellent handling. The brake system is from a 944 Turbo including new rotors and pads and a set of used calipers. Stainless steel brake lines were added for safety and to take away the spongy pedal feeling while racing. All new bearing were installed when assembled. The brake backing plates were powder coated black and the brake air deflectors were powder coated purple. It has aluminum 944 Turbo a-arms with rebuilt ball joints and new Racer's edge bearing insert bushings as well as Racer's edge caster blocks with new adjuster bolts. This bearing package is $625 new. The rear suspension is all stock yet. A tranny is included but not installed in the car. The torque tube is still installed in the car as well as the rear axle shafts. The rims that are on the car are Mahle-BBS 7x16 in the front and 8x16 in the back. The tires are brand new heat-cycled Kumho VictoRacer 245/45/ZR16 in the back and 225/50ZR16 in the front. Included in the sale but not pictured is a plexiglass front windshield. Also includes an extra torque tube. This vehicle does not have a title and cannot be driven on the road.
