This is a 1985 Camaro i had originally purchased to build a drag car. since i don't have the time or money to spare to undertake this project i am selling this vehicle. car would make a great shell for use as a drag car or would make for a good restoration project. i am willing to let it go very cheap, since it is still a good running car. there are a ton of things that need to be fixed, but these things can all be fixed with some time and effort. this car is worth it for someone wanting a shell for use as a competition car.

The car has a 4 barrel 305 small block V8 and a 400R4 trans. the car also has had the diff. gears changed, i am not sure what the ratio is but it isn't the stock ratio. my best guess is a 3.73:1. car has about 160,000 miles.

the good:

both engine and trans both run very well considering the car's age. engine runs smooth and transmission shifts smooth. car isn't fast since it is only a stock 305 but the engine runs strong and pulls well. the underbody is solid. car passed indiana state emissions for 2008. heat works. car has had a recent tuneup. back tires have lots of tread left, although the fronts look pretty worn. the front turnsignal lamps have been replaced and it has new headlights.

the bad:
carpet, seats, and door panels are soiled. car is missing the headliner and the sunvisors. t-tops are still functional but the weather stripping on them leaks. both interior door handles are broken. driver side door will not open from the outside. the speedometer sensor in the gauge cluster is bad, thus the speedo doesn't work and it is setting off the check engine light. the car needs a set of front shocks, rear struts, and a transmission mount. the a/c works, but needs a belt for the compressor. blower fan only operates at one speed. The HVAC controls won't operate the louver to direct the airflow for some reason, so air always blows out the defrost vents. the previous owner had tried to paint the car with a poor paintjob (the car was originally blue) and the paint is chipping off the vehicle. because of this there are areas on the vehicle that are affected by rust, but no area is rusted through yet. the vehicle needs to have the paint stripped off and the sheetmetal sanded, and a repaint. could also use a new driver side fender since i think it's been bondoed. car currently it has a primer gray topcoat that i sprayed on to try to fight off the corrosion but it isn't lasting. the air pump from the engine was stripped out along with most of the air injection piping. this car was still able to pass emissions without the air pump, however. car currently has no catback exhaust (it does still have the converter) so this will have to be replaced. radio does not work since the previous owner cut out the harness. sidemarkers on fenders do not work. front tires are worn. brakes are also worn. they function but the car could use a new set of pads and shoes, as well as new rotors and drums.
